Last night saw 3 Scot’s teams line up in the first of their semi-finals. As each supporter will tell you, all 3 games were nail-biters.
The Under 14s came from behind to register a 26-20 win over Renown.
The 18s lead for some of their game, but due some unfortunate situations ended up going down to Renown 10-18.
As it has been all year the Scots A Grade battled a close, hard-fought game against Kingsgrove Colts. At one stage Scots were down 6-20 and things weren’t looking good. But from somewhere they pulled an extra effort and managed to get the score to 24-24 at the full-time whistle. This took the game into another 10 minutes of over-time, which still saw the score at 24-all. And so into "golden point" extra time ….. there were a few attempts at field goals from both sides and both side almost crossed the line witha try but to no avail. That was until Josh Senikau, Scots full-back, kick a field goal. The players on the bench and some supporters raced onto the field just as if it had been a grand final win (that is still a few weeks away).
Thanks to all the supporters that turned up. You made a big difference to the players.
