Well the semi-finals are now over. After being stretched over 2 weekends due to ground closures (which unfortunately didn’t benefit any of the Scots teams) both rounds of semi-finals have been played.
Scots had 8 out of 11 teams head from the normal season into semi-finals over the weekend. There were some highs and lows across the weekend and in the end we will be seeing on 4 of those teams head into the finals this coming Saturday and Sunday. Those teams are the Under 9s, Under 13s, Under 14s and A Grade.
Congratulations also goes to the teams that played in the semi-finals but didn’t quite make it further - Under 10s, Under 11s, Under 15s, and Under 18s.
A big thank you to all that helped out at Cahill Park over the weekend. It can always be difficult during the semi-finals when most of the Scots teams are playing elsewhere. If you weren’t there on Saturday afternoon you missed seeing the ground packed up in record time by the A Grade (who were there to do Saturday recovery session). Glenys didn’t know what had hit her and she could be seen grabbing her paperwork as the boys wisked away the table and chair from right underneath her.
Let’s hope that the week gives all those playing in the finals some time to recover from 2 games over the weekend, and that they come out stronger for this weekend’s games.
The schedule for Scots teams this coming weekend is -
Saturday
Under 9s vs Penshurst RSL Gold - 9.00am at Hurstville Oval
Under 13s vs Penshurst RSL - 2.45pm at Hurstville Oval
Sunday
Under 14s vs Five Dock RSL - 10.40am at Hurstville Oval
A Grade vs Kingsgrove Colts - 2.30pm at Hurstville Oval
