U15s and U17s - Finalists 2007

August 7th, 2007 · No Comments

Unfortunately on Sunday at Renown Park  was where the finals run stopped for both Scot’s Under 15s and Under 17s sides.

To the players and officials of the U/15 and U/17 teams thank you for a great year, both sides showed great sportsmanship, played for the club with pride, and treated us to some wonderful football.

The very talented U/15 team were outstanding all year, they were the best St. George team of 2007.  Two Balmain teams will play the Grand Final, and Scots can on the right day defeat both of them.   We believe that they played their Grand Final two weekend ago at Cahill Park, when they played a faultless first half, and treated us to one of the best games of football seen at Cahill for many years. Hold your heads up high boys, the best is yet to come for this team.

The U/7 team was the side we nearly didn’t get onto the field this year.  Thanks to a select group of talented players who showed great club loyalty and determination to hold the side together, they, along with their first year Coach, battled on each week, grew in strength and developed into a great team.  The only thing lacking in this side was a full reserve bench, and anyone who watched their games against Colts can support this statement. Next year they join another select group of players in the U/19 team, so numbers will not be a problem. Like the U/15’s the best is yet to come.

The Scots Executive and committee would personally thank the players and officials of these two teams for their club loyalty, their enjoyable football, and the friendship that has grown between club and players.

See you again in 2008 to go one step further!
