Please come along, join in, enjoy the dayand help Scots mark 50 years of calling Cahill Park our home. 50 years of history, great teams, great wins and a lot of great memories of the club, the park and the football that has been played on it. All past and present players and officials welcome.
Saturday 30th July
9am to 1.30pm
- Mini and mod competition games
- Kids fun fair
- Jumping castle – pass the ball and more
2pm
- Circuit walk of the oval by past and present players
- Official proceedings
- Past players are invited to take part in the walk
- All scots junior players will walk with the past players
- Presentation of the Cahill Park Bell
2.30pm
- Afternoon tea for past players and VIP guests
- Players and officials from past era’s are invited to join our VIP guests for afternoon tea
3pm
- Past and present players touch gala
- 6 sides from past and present teams competing
- Spectators allowed on the inner ground – bring a rug – and enjoy the fun
5pm
- End of day celebration BBQe and drinks
- All welcome
- This will be at our normal BBQ prices
- All welcome to attend
Who remembers
- The beautiful picket fence that circled the oval
- The 12 peppercorn trees and tables and chairs that stood where we now park in front of the canteen
- The first pavilion with the elevated deck and the steps up the front
- When the field ran the other way, parallel with the highway
- When scots played second division (presently the bundaberg cup) on the ground
- When the park was enclosed with a fence and we charged entry fee (but only to the opposition) at the gate.
