Congratulations to the U/17’s team – on their 30 to 12 win over Leichhardt Juniors last night in the U/17A Grand Final.

They saved the best for last – playing great grand final football – with every player giving his best and contributing to the win.

I would like to congratulate and thank Coach Adam Hellyer and Manager Loretta Fletcher not only on the manner in which these boys played football but in their off field behaviour and attitude – they are a credit to both Scots and the St. George District.

Thank you to Ben and Tony who moved into the trainers roles with this side only a few weeks ago and have done a great job.

On behalf of the club I would like to thank Rocky from St. George Dragons and Referees for his support and assistance both yesterday and at training last Thursday.

Likewise I would like to thank David from the St. George Board for his support and assistance with the team last night.

Thanks to all the supporters – especially those from other Scots teams who added their support loud and clear all game from both sides of the field – it really helped.

Thank you to Loretta for providing the venue for the victory party and for all her work towards it – likewise Michele for her contributions to making the party a success – to the parents who helped and to Graham and Glenn from the Scots Executive.

President Frank Lobina and I were privileged to be able to speak with the team before and after the game – and once again congratulate them on a wonderful premiership victory.

Regards
Glenys Ellis
Scots Club Secretary

Support

Would be great to see players and officials of Scots sides no longer competing, especially the mini and mod grades, showing up at Hurstville or Endevaour over the weekend to support our senior teams in finals. It means a lot to the players and is a great help when there is a large Scots crowd in attendance – especially when the they can hear the Scots name ringing out from the supporters.

Scots 2009 Senior Club Champions

Congratulations to the four senior teams on retaining the St. George Senior Club Championship – this is the symbol of club supremacy in St. George. It is the 16th time we have won it since its inception in 1947 and is 8 times more than any other club.

Semi Sunday
A huge thank you to the Scots officials who ran the Canteen, Bar-B-Cue and Raffles at Cahill last Sunday – due to most Scots staff being at other ovals with competing teams we had a skeleton staff – and they were fantastic – Thanks Annette, Snowy, Louisa, Kirsty, Mick, Alexia, Robyn and Carolyn.

To all at Scots,

I would love to announce the arrival of a new Front Row forward for Arncliffe Scots with his own cheerleader.

My beautiful niece and nephew arrived on Friday 7 August (around 5.00am) via C section to two proud parents, Dib and Nicky. All four doing well, except the mum is a little bit on the sore side.

The front row forward has been named Jude and weighed in at 2.07 kg while his cheerleader sister Elizabeth weighed in at 1.89 kg.

Both babies are well but under constant care by the nurses at RPA and will remain in hospital for a few more weeks, so we look forward to them joining the El-Ters clan very soon.

Thanks,
Ben

-=-=-=-=-=-

Thanks Ben for the news All the officials and players at Scots would like to wish Nicky, Dib and their wonderful new family all the very best.

Development

Annual U/15 Toowoomba Game will be at Hurstville Oval on Saturday 4th July
All U/12 teams will also play at Hurstville this day – Gold Coin entry
Next U/13,U/14,U/15 and U/17 development games will be against West in July
3rd Development games – at present holding talks with the Bulldogs – if going ahead will be late July

Grand Final Day

The final series will be played at Jubilee Oval (Yay!)
U/9 to U/14 will be a straight St. George series
U/15, U/16, and U/17 – possibly a joint final series in two divisions with Balmain – this matter is still being discussed.
U/21 will be with Balmain

Important – Trainer Vests

All St. George grounds now have 2 Orange Full Trainer Vests and 2 Blue League Safe Vests. These will be loaned to each grade for the team trainers.

ONLY FULLY QUALIFIED TRAINERS CAN WEAR THE ORANGE VEST – AND ONLY THOSE WHO HAVE DONE THE LEAGUE SAFE COURSE CAN WEAR THE BLUE VEST – NO ONE ELSE SHOULD BE ON THE FIELD.

If you are at a ground without these vest you can use the old green ones so still carry them with you, and make sure that your trainers are qualified or ask someone from another club grade to help.
