The Passing of a Scots Legend

Arncliffe Scots honour and mourn the passing of Glyn Price at age 97. Glyn Price was Mr St. George – there longest serving and most admired administrator. He started his career as Treasurer of Arncliffe Scots with his life long mate and brother-in-law Percy Davis He was a man loved by all and respected by everyone connected with Rugby League. He went to great highs with St.George but remained all his life a true loyal Arncliffe Scot.

Our condolences go to his daughter Jill, son Denis and their families.

Arncliffe Scots A. Grade will respect his passing with a minutes silence before their game this coming weekend – with two of his great nephews Rhys and Huw Ellis playing in the side.

Annual General Meeting

The 2008 Annual General Meeting for the Arncliffe Scots Junior Rugby League Football Club will be held next Wednesday 3rd December.

The meeting will start at 7.30pm and will be held at the Arncliffe Scots Sports & Social Club.

All interested persons over the age of 18 are welcome.

HELD AT THE ARNCLIFFE SCOTS SPORTS AND SOCIAL CLUB
ON TUESDAY 16TH OCTOBER 2007. AT 7.30P.M.

All interested over the age of 18 Welcome
AGENDA
1.    Reading and Confirmation of the Minutes of the previous A.G.M.
2.    Consideration and Adoption of the Annual Report
3.    Consideration and Adoption of the Annual Balance Sheet
4.    Ratification of Submissions
5.    Election of the Office Bearers and General Committee for Season 2008

ELIGIBLE TO VOTE – As per the Constitution number 9 (a to e)
1.    Life Members
2.    Members of the 2007 Committees of Office Bearers
3.    Registered Coach, Manager, Trainer of the 2007 teams.
4.    Registered A Grade, B. Grade, C. Grade players from 2007. over the age of 18

As per the Constitution numbers 12 and 13

All matters for consideration (voting) at the A.G.M. must be in the form of a submission tabled at a general committee meeting prior to the A.G.M.

All matters for discussion (General Business) at the A.G.M. must be submitted to the Secretary in writing 7 days prior to the meeting (that means it needs to be received by Glenys prior to Tuesday 9th October).

Training, Rain and Updates

All training on North Barton Park is off tonight – due to not being able to use the Soccer Field or the small Baseball field and the Car Park end of the Rugby field is under water – hopefully all will have improved by Thursday night – All council grounds are closed so all other clubs training is also off.

This weekend scheduled round is round 12 – and although a rough draft is out please do not take this as confirmed – unless the weather improved we will have another non football weekend – At present all Junior grades U/12 to U/6 are at Cahill Park – U/16 have the Bye – U/14, U/15, u/19 are to play in St. George area and U/17 in Balmain – A. Grade no games due to John Peard A. grade Challenge.

Splits have been done with U/9 in B, U/10 in B, U/11 in B, U/14 in B, U/15 in A. and U/17 in B all other grades remain in one competition.

Round 10 and 11 the two washed out weekends – will possibly be rescheduled over the next few weeks – with some changes due to split comps etc.

The John Peard Cup game no decision yet – the game is scheduled for Henson Park but may be moved or postponed.

The Development Squad game against North’s due to be played tonight has been moved to next Tuesday with training on the Monday both at Beverly Hills Park.

The one thing that is still on is the Committee Meeting scheduled for 7.30pm tomorrow night (20th).

Please be advised that Councils have closed all ground for the Weekend.

All games this weekend are off.

This weekends games round 10 are all deferred and may be played at round 13.

Coaching and Committee Meetings

All Coaching staff are reminded of the Coaching meeting at 7.30 at training this coming Tuesday.

The Committee Meeting scheduled for this Wednesday has been rescheduled to Wednesday 20th June due to State of Origin.

February Committee Meeting Changed

The committee meeting for February has been moved back one week so that information from the St George Junior League meeting can be reported and so that a complete Social calendar can be put forward.

The meeting will now be WEDNESDAY 21ST FEBRUARY at 7.30pm at the club.

Any rumour that the meeting has been changed so that our male committee members can wine and dine their lovely ladies is purely speculation
